Vikram

Vikram is a minor character in ZombiU. He lived in his house at the Shoreditch Petrol Station in Spitalfields Green with his wife and son.

Background[]

A British citizen of Indian origin, Vikram owned a petrol station in Spitalfields Green along with his wife and child. He is also shown to have been good friends with the Prepper.

When the zombie outbreak occurred, Vikram shut himself in the petrol station along with his family. He built several fortifications around the station to protect it from attacks by the infected. He also hung out several Christmas lights and a sign with the words STILL ALIVE written on it, to let survivors know that there were living people inside.

Over the next few days, Vikram began trading fuel to other survivors. On one occasion, he came across a man who had tied up his infected children and put them in the back seat of his car. After refuelling the car, Vikram grabbed a sniper rifle and shot at the gas container on his car as he drove off, causing it to explode.

In ZombiU[]

When the generator in the safe house runs out of fuel, the Prepper tells the player about Vikram, and how he and his family have been trading other survivors fuel in return for various tasks.

When the player enters the petrol station, Vikram greets them but seems to be a bit unstable, believing the player to be his son. Once he realises that the player isn't his son, he points a shotgun at them and demands to know where his son is. He then sends you to get antibiotics for his wife, who is ill, in return for fuel. When the player returns to his house with the antibiotics, they will discover that Vikram has been infected and is eating his son in the kitchen. He will attack the player upon seeing them, whilst begging the player to kill him at the same time. Once the player kills him, they will pick up an upgrade for the Prepper Pad, which is then used to locate Vikram's fuel.

Trivia[]

  • Vikram is voiced by Madhav Sharma.
  • When he is found as an infected he utters " Please...kill...me" and "Please...Don't leave me like this". It is unknown why and how he can speak. Though it could be the survivors inner guilt of Vikram dying while they were gone making them hear his ā€œtalkingā€.
  • It is unknown how he was infected or if he was already infected prior to your meeting.
    • Since the door is open when the player returns, it can be assumed that he tried to find his son or mistook a zombie for his son given his mental state then had gotten infected as a result and turned.
    • Another possibility is that his wife upstairs was a zombie and that he intended to use the antibiotics the player obtains to try and treat his wife of the infection, but while the player was gone, he was bitten while he was upstairs tending to his wife.
  • His mental state seems to reflect Andre's from the 2004 film "Dawn of the Dead".
  • As an infected, he runs very fast and requires multiple hits to kill. His head also doesn't get damaged when hit with the cricket bat.
  • Vikram is most likely of Indian descent, as evidenced by his name and the fact that the flag of India is seen hanging outside the petrol station. He might also be an immigrant (not born in the U.K.) as evidenced by the Prepper's comment (after you kill Vikram) about leaders throughout history who have blamed immigrants in order to distract the natives from the corruption of they're own politicians.
  • He and Dr. Knight are the only two characters that do not swear in the game.
