The Prepper's Safe House is a location in ZombiU and is the player's main hub for sleeping, stocking supplies and travelling to other locations.
Background[]
Located in an undisclosed London Underground station (presumably Shadwell or Aldgate East), the Safe House was built by The Prepper some time ago, while he was still with The Ravens of Dee. It was one of a series of safe houses established by the organization to prepare for the coming Blight.
Features[]
The safe house has a number of features, including:
- A bed for the player to save their game.
- A workbench for modifying weapons.
- A cabinet containing some land mines
- The Footlocker, the only safe place for the player to store items in the game besides their backpack.
- CCTV Monitors linked to every camera the player has hacked, which has information on items in the area around the camera, as well as potential quests.
- A link to the Sewer System, the only way to fast travel in the game.
In time, the safe house will eventually have setbacks such as empty generators, which will disable the monitors. The safe house will also be prone to small infected attacks, where the player is tasked to defend.
Trivia[]
- It is unknown how the Prepper got permission to build a huge safe house in the middle of an active London Underground station, especially since Underground stations are almost always busy. Building a safe house would be disruptive to business in the station for a number of reasons.
- The Safe House is shown to be located in Shadwell Station in the game's introductory cutscene. This is strange, however, as the real-life Shadwell Station is an Overground station, not an Underground. Though it did originally function as an Underground station for a time until 2007.
